Yoshinaga Sake Brewery
The spirit of harmony brewed by a husband and wife in the hot spring village of Ibusuki. Rihachi is a passionate sweet potato shochu that inherits an indomitable spirit.
This small brewery was founded in 1905 and is located quietly in a residential area of Ibusuki City, which is famous for its sand bath hot springs.
When talking about this brewery, it is essential to know the story behind its flagship brand, "Rihachi." Rihachi, the second-generation owner, became paralyzed in his 30s, but continued to protect the brewery with an indomitable spirit. Inheriting that spirit, the brewery is now run by a family of five, led by a married couple, who continue to preserve the taste of their handmade brews.
With the family motto of "honoring harmony," they brew gentle yet solid shochu, the flavor of which seems to reflect the warmth of the brewer. In recent years, they have also released challenging brands using aromatic yeast, actively seeking to combine tradition with innovation.
