The moment you pour it into a glass, a sweet aroma reminiscent of ripe fruit and vanilla rises. The richness is so strong that you might wonder if it's really shochu, and it's proof that it has been aged slowly for five years in sherry casks.
The richness of brown sugar shochu is combined with the fruity nuances from the casks, resulting in a taste that is almost like the finest brandy. The taste is surprisingly smooth, and the sweet aftertaste lingers long after it passes through your throat, making it a true "liquid jewel."
